The KidPrint Team is excited to announce the future plans of our organization. Abiding by our mission statement, our officers hope to furthur each student's education of 3D Printing. We aim to do so by using TinkerCAD to create a basis of knowledge for young students. TinkerCAD is a 3D printing program created by Autodesk specialized for young adults.

In the first meeting of the organization, KidPrint volunteers and students will become aquainted with one another. The "big buddy", being the volunteer, and the "small buddy", being the student, will play an assortment of games in order to create a bond. This parternship will last throughout the year, and the big buddy will guide their small buddy to become 3D Printing experts.

TinkerCAD has an assortment of lessons for the small buddies to complete, which will help them grasp the basics of how to design within the program. The website is simple to learn and powerful enough to help students understand and practice 3D printing. If any student is having trouble understanding these foundational lessons, their volunteer will have no trouble helping them because of the training they received throughout the summer.

KidPrint will progress to programs outside of the introductory lessons that TinkerCAD provides, and students will be able to create any projects they have in mind. At the end of a semester, students will be able to pick their favorite project to print. This experience will help students see the mechanics of a 3D printer, like the extruder or stepper motor. Not only will a child be well educated in 3D printing, they will also have a prize to take home at the end of the program.
